This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Griddixcat website at Griddixcat.com. The website is owned by Hantropos S.r.l., a company registered in Italy with its registered office at Via I Maggio 32, 20053 Muggiò (Milano) and company number 03123470969.

At Griddixcat your privacy is of great importance. As the custodians of your personal information, we have developed this policy to ensure that your privacy is always protected while you are using the Griddixcat universe. By accessing or using the website, you agree to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not access or use this site.

A special note about children

We do not knowingly market to or encourage children, minors or anyone under the age of 18 to use our service and we expressly request that children do not submit information to us. Due to the completely random nature of relationships and friendships in Griddixcat, is expressly forbidden the subscription to children under 18.

About Griddixcat and the information we collect

Griddixcat is an innovative Social Game based on random interaction, where the members' relationships are based just on proximity, offering members a set of tools to connect to completely new people and potential new friends Internationally. The Griddixcat network is free to use for all members that are over 18.

In our online registration form, we ask you to provide us with certain information such as your nickname, your email address, your gender, your age, your location details and some optional details about yourself. These details are available to you anytime, and capable of being corrected or updated (with the exception of gender and profile address) through your 'Edit Profile' page.

At your own discretion, you may choose to post additional facts about yourself. These facts may include sensitive personal data such as your ethnic origin, level of education, religious denomination, sexual life and physical or mental health. You may volunteer sensitive personal data to us when you create your profile. Please also remember that photographs and videos that you post may reveal sensitive personal data about you e.g. about your health. If you volunteer sensitive personal data to us, you explicitly consent to our using such information as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities or postings on the website, we may collect such information into a file which is only accessed by authorized personnel. We may also collect other users' comments about you in our complaints department.

Information that is collected automatically

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies. A session ID cookie simply terminates once a user closes the browser. Some of our business partners use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies, once we have given permission to them to set cookies.

Your profile pictures will be available to other users of the website if you select the 'Any users' access setting. If you have registered on one of our partner websites, your profile information will be available to all users of the Griddixcat social network whether via our website or our partners' websites.

By registering on the website you acknowledge and agree that the profile data and other postings that you provide, including sensitive personal data, may be accessed from countries outside Italy. Please note that countries outside Europe may have lower standards of data protection than in Italy.

By registering on one of our partner websites, you will also be providing personal information to our partner. Their privacy policies and practices are separate to those of Griddixcat and we strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the policies and practices displayed on that website.

Please note that we may also use material that you post on open access areas of the Griddixcat social network in advertising and promotional materials on our partner sites.

Disclosure of your information

We do not sell or rent out any personal information about you to any third party. We do disclose information in aggregate for marketing and promotional purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose any information that could be used to personally identify you. Certain information, such as your password is not disclosed in aggregate at all.

In order to maintain a healthy community, Griddixcat cooperates with all law enforcement inquiries and with all third parties to enforce their intellectual property or other rights.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

Your use of other users' information

You may not use other users' information for commercial purposes, to spam, to harass, or to make unlawful threats. We reserve the right to terminate the accounts of those who misuse other users' information or who otherwise violate the Terms and Conditions.

Inactivity

If you have not signed in to the website for more than 2 months, we can remove your profile as part of our data cleansing process.

Control of your password

You may not disclose your password to any third parties or share it with any third parties. If, despite the foregoing, you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately change your password. This can be done via your 'Edit Profile' page.

Reviewing and changing your personal information

Once you register, you will be able to review and change much of your personal information including:

  1. Your contact email address;
  2. Your profile, photographs, and videos;
  3. Your country of residence;
  4. Your password.

Please promptly update your information if it changes by signing in to your account and following the screen prompts. We strongly urge you to periodically change your password to help reduce the risk of unauthorized access to your account information.

You are entitled to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small fee).

We welcome any comments or queries you may have, so please feel free to send a message to Customer Service, including for the purposes of altering your information or changing your settings.

Security

Griddixcat has security measures in place to protect and prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Griddixcat uses industry standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information such as firewalls. While 'perfect security' does not exist on the Internet, our technical experts at Griddixcat work hard to ensure your secure use of our site.

Deleting your Profile

Users of the Griddixcat universe have the following choices to delete their profile from our database:

  1. Send a message to Customer Service;
  2. Sign in with your password and delete your profile. These options are available from your 'Edit Profile' page.


Invite a Friend

If a user decides to use our Invitation option to invite a friend to our site, we ask them for the friend's email address. Griddixcat will automatically send the friend an email inviting them to join the website. Griddixcat doesn't store these email addresses. Griddixcat does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations.

By providing us with information about a friend, you confirm that they have given you their informed consent to do so.

Uploading your Contacts

If a user decides to upload their contacts, they accept that by doing so, an email invitation will be sent on their behalf, to the email addresses of the contacts that have been uploaded and then selected to be invited. Griddixcat doesn't store these email addresses. Griddixcat does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations.

Geolocation of Griddixcat profiles

When you activate the Geolocation in Griddixcat within your 'Edit Profile' page, and if you have a new generation browser (Internet Explorer version 8 or later, Google Chrome version 5 or later, Firefox 3.5 or higher, Safari 5 or later, Opera 6.10 or later), the browser asks you if you want to communicate your position.
If you agree, your browser will collect information about nearby wireless access points and IP address of your computer. Then your browser will send this to the default service provider for location-based service, Google Location Services, to receive an estimate of your position. Finally, this information will be saved in your Griddixcat profile, in fields latitude and longitude.
If you choose not to activate Griddixcat geolocation, information relating to your last position will not be saved in your profile and the browser will not make any operation.
In case of deactivation of Geolocation in Griddixcat, we'll save your last known position before the deactivation of the service.
Reactivation of Geolocation service will always be possible.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy or email practices, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our homepage.
